UGG Sustainability Commitments

2021

Set Science Based Targets

UGG said it planned to set Science Based Targets by 2021. Science Based Targets are emissions goals that are meant to match climate science and the Paris Agreement. The brand said it was already working on carbon accounting and emissions reduction with expert partners. Third-party coverage later said Deckers, UGG’s parent company, has approved short-term emissions targets, but UGG itself does not clearly separate its own brand-level progress from the parent company’s reporting.

2025

Increase certified fibres

UGG said it aimed to increase its use of recycled, repurposed, regenerated, renewable, and certified fibres by 35% by 2027. This is a materials target meant to lower the impact of its products over time. The brand also said it wanted to keep looking for better alternatives to its core fibres, such as wool and polyester.

2027

Reach 100,000 women

UGG said it planned to enrich the lives of 100,000 women globally through HERproject by 2027. HERproject is a workplace programme that supports health, financial inclusion, and gender equality. The commitment focuses on social impact in supply chains rather than product design.

2025

Restore farmland acres

UGG said it would restore one million acres of farmland by 2025 through regenerative agriculture work. Regenerative agriculture means farming in ways that try to improve soil, biodiversity, and carbon storage. The brand linked this goal to its partnership with the Savory Institute and its Land to Market programme.
