Ugg Store The Sustainability Actions

Launched a sustainability site

UGG launched a separate sustainability website called Feel Good to explain its work on the environment, community, and innovation. The site was meant to make the brand’s activities easier to follow and to give more context on its projects and partnerships. The company said this was part of a push for more transparency and accountability, so people could better understand its impact and plans.

Joined the UN Global Compact

In 2016, UGG, through its parent company Deckers Brands, joined the United Nations Global Compact. This is a voluntary business framework based on basic rules for human rights, labour, the environment, and anti-corruption. Joining it signals that the company has agreed to align its work with those principles, although it does not by itself prove strong performance.

Expanded lower-impact materials

UGG has used more lower-impact materials in some products, including organic and recycled cotton, 100% recycled polyester fibres, sugarcane EVA (a foam made partly from plant-based material), and repurposed wool. Independent reviewers also noted that the brand uses some certified materials such as GOTS, GRS, RWS, and FSC, which are standards for organic textiles, recycled content, responsible wool, and responsible forestry.

Added repair and care options

UGG offers paid repair services, including a partnership with NuShoe, a repair provider. It also gives care instructions and a one-year warranty. These steps can help products last longer and keep them out of landfill for more time, which supports a more circular approach to clothing and footwear.

Supported worker and community projects

UGG has supported HERproject, a workplace programme that focuses on health, financial inclusion, and gender equality. The brand said it had trained more than 33,000 women since 2016 and planned to reach 100,000 women globally by 2027. It also donated $125,000 to GLAAD in 2020 and has sold an all-gender capsule year-round to support LGBTQ inclusion.

Started regenerative farming work

UGG said it began a collaboration with The Savory Institute through its Land to Market programme. Regenerative farming means farming in a way that tries to restore soil and land health instead of wearing it down. The brand described this as part of its wider effort to reduce environmental harm through its supply chain.
