Telstra Sustainability Commitments

2030

Cut emissions by 2030

Telstra says it aims to reduce its combined Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 70% and its Scope 3 emissions by 50% by 2030, using FY19 as the baseline. Scope 1 and 2 cover direct emissions and purchased electricity, while Scope 3 covers wider value-chain emissions. This is one of its main climate targets.

2050

Reach net-zero emissions

Telstra says it has a long-term commitment to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. Net-zero means cutting emissions as much as possible and balancing any remaining emissions with removals or offsets. The company presents this as part of its wider climate plan.

2028

Run its next RAP cycle

Telstra says it has a FY26-28 Reconciliation Action Plan. A Reconciliation Action Plan, or RAP, is a formal plan for improving relationships with First Nations peoples and embedding their perspectives in an organisation. This is a time-bound commitment to continue that work through 2028.
