Tchibo Sustainability Commitments
2030
Cut direct emissions by 42%
Tchibo plans to reduce its direct greenhouse gas emissions from its own operations by 42% by 2030 compared with 2022. It says this covers areas such as stores, warehouses, administration, and roasting plants. The target has been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative, which checks whether climate goals match current climate science.
2030
Lower supply chain emissions
Tchibo plans to cut emissions from its agricultural supply chains by 30.3% by 2030, with coffee farming named as a key area. It also plans to reduce emissions from non-agricultural supply chains, including consumer goods and packaging, by 25% by 2030. These targets are part of its wider climate plan.
2045
Reach net-zero value chain
Tchibo says it aims to reach net-zero emissions across its full value chain by 2045. Net zero means cutting emissions as much as possible and balancing any remaining emissions with removals or other measures. The company says this is its long-term climate goal.
2028
Reach 5,000 coffee farmers
Tchibo says it wants its coffee program in Brazil to reach a total of 5,000 farmers by 2028. The program uses learning communities, workshops, and field pilots to support climate adaptation, better farming methods, and more sustainable pest and weed control. The company says it is working with local partners to scale the project.
