Cut Scope 1 and 2 emissions
Nudie Jeans says it plans to reduce its absolute Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 51% by 2030 from a 2018 base year. Scope 1 and 2 are the emissions it directly creates and the emissions from the energy it buys. The brand says this target is aligned with a 1.5°C warming pathway, which means it is trying to match the level of cuts scientists say are needed to limit warming.

The company also says it aims to reduce absolute Scope 3 emissions by 51% by 2030 from a 2018 base year, excluding user-phase emissions. Scope 3 covers indirect emissions across the supply chain, such as materials, transport, and manufacturing. This is usually the hardest part of a fashion brand’s footprint to reduce, so the target is a major part of its climate plan.
