Published FY25 responsibility report

VF released its FY25 Environmental & Social Responsibility report in October 2025. The report says the company is tracking progress on environmental and social targets and gives updates on topics like sustainable materials, waste reduction, traceability, and worker and community programmes. It also says VF traced 61% of its key materials volume across five tiers of the supply chain, which means it followed materials through several steps from source to finished goods. The company says this helps it understand sourcing risks and opportunities.

Expanded worker support programmes

VF says its Worker & Community Development programme has improved the lives of over 1 million people, reaching that milestone ahead of its FY26 target. The programme started in 2017 and funds projects that aim to improve the well-being of workers and nearby communities. VF says the work is based on local needs rather than a one-size-fits-all plan. In earlier reporting, the company said the programme had already reached more than 823,000 people in 11 countries.

Cut single-use plastic in shipping

VF says its Naked Delivery programme removes polybags, which are thin plastic bags used to wrap products, before items are shipped to customers. In FY25, the company says this diverted 27,000 tons of single-use plastic. VF presents this as part of its wider effort to reduce waste and packaging impacts across its business and supply chain.

Advanced recycled polyester use

VF says it reached its recycled polyester target ahead of schedule. In earlier reporting, the company said recycled polyester made up 40% of its sourcing, up from 36% the year before, and that this put it most of the way toward a 50% target. Recycled polyester is polyester made from used plastic instead of new fossil-based material. VF links this work to lower emissions and less waste.

Improved traceability in supply chain

VF says traceability is a key part of its sustainability work. In FY23, it traced 72% of its wool supply chain from farm to finished product. The company also says it has a goal to trace five key materials through all five supply chain tiers by FY28. Traceability means following a material through the steps where it is grown, processed, made, and sold. VF says this helps it spot environmental and social risks earlier.

Issued green bonds for projects

VF says it issued its first green bond in 2020 and a second one in 2023. A green bond is a type of loan from investors that must be used for projects with environmental benefits. VF says the money was allocated to three project areas: sustainable products and materials, sustainable operations and supply chain, and natural carbon sinks, which are natural systems like forests that store carbon.

Published reporting and data files

VF provides a reporting and data page with annual environmental and social reports, data downloads, factory lists, traceability maps, and disclosure documents. It says its reports follow the GRI Standards, which are common sustainability reporting rules, and align with the SASB Apparel, Accessories & Footwear Standard, a framework for industry-specific ESG disclosure. The company also shares CDP climate and water disclosures and environmental data assurance files, which are third-party checks on reported environmental data.
