Expanded brand agreements in Asia

On December 4, 2023, ITOCHU announced that it had signed new agreements with its existing partners in Japan and Korea for its owned brand, Outdoor Products. In Japan, ITOCHU signed a licensing agreement for the brand's apparel products and an exclusive contract for the brand's stores with Baycrew’s Co., Ltd. In Korea, ITOCHU underwrote convertible bonds of Wonderplace Company Limited. The move was described as strengthening the brand's presence in the retail sector in Japan and Korea.

Expanded trademark coverage in Asia

In November 2012, ITOCHU acquired the trademark for Outdoor Products in 19 regions, including Japan, Korea and China. The trademark has since been expanded to 33 regions, including 18 in Asia, with marketing efforts primarily focused on Japan and other Asian countries.

Launched in Bangladesh market

ITOCHU stated that initiatives for Outdoor Products included a capital and business tie-up with PPW Sports & Entertainment (HK) Limited in the Chinese market and the launch of the brand in the Bangladeshi market.

Developed low-carbon products

Mentech has developed professional outdoor smart wearable devices and energy storage products. The NEO portable power station products have solar fast charging function, and the PowFi series provides stable and secure power and network for camping and outdoor adventure. The balcony PV energy storage is able to utilize the balcony space to generate electricity from PV and store the energy for plug-and-play.

Built photovoltaic power systems

As of 2023, Mentech has participated in the construction of communication photovoltaic power supply system with a total of more than 30MW, providing green power to tens of thousands of communication base stations. This initiative has resulted in a cumulative reduction of nearly 30,000 tons of emissions.

Participated in COP28

Dongguan Mentech Optical & Magnetic Co., Ltd. actively responded by participating in the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) held in Dubai, UAE. It said it was practicing ESG principles and aiming to drive the implementation of high-tech markets and low carbon green applications.
