Zero liquid waste target
Midfield says it aims to reach zero liquid waste from its operations by 2025. It describes this as part of its wider waste plan, which focuses first on removing unnecessary waste and then recycling or reusing what remains. The company says it is also trialling new wastewater treatment methods to support this goal.

Zero solid waste to landfill
Midfield says it plans to send zero solid waste to landfill by 2030. It says this target sits within its waste hierarchy approach, where waste should be reduced first and then reused or recycled where possible. The company says non-recyclable plastic is currently the only waste from its sites going to landfill.

Cut emissions by 2030
Midfield says it will reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 42% by FY2030. It also says it will reduce absolute Scope 1 and 3 FLAG emissions by 30.3% by FY2030, and Scope 3 emissions from purchased goods and services and waste by 42% by FY2030. These are formal climate targets tied to its SBTi-approved plan.

Reach net zero by 2050
Midfield says it plans to reach net zero by 2050. It also says it will cut absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 90% by 2050, Scope 1 and 3 FLAG emissions by 72% by 2050, and wider Scope 3 emissions by 90% by 2050. The company presents these as long-term climate commitments based on a 2022 baseline.
