Mademoiselle Desserts International Sustainability Actions

Launched Clean M

In 2017 Mademoiselle Desserts launched a project called Clean M to further strengthen consumers’ confidence and interest in our pastries, guarantee transparency of information, recipes and work carried out. The aim is on one hand, to reduce the list of ingredients used as much as possible, focussing on the elimination of colourants or synthetic aromas, emulsifiers, preservatives etc. This is now a daily concern for all the Research & Development teams.

Launched PACK M

In 2020, Mademoiselle Desserts launched a 5-year project called PACK M to align the reduction of packaging and elimination of non-recyclable packaging, to measure the work carried out. There are several challenges in the targets for 2025: virgin fibre packaging, recycled fibre packaging when the product risk is controlled, 60% recycled material integrated into plastic packaging, and packaging with an existing recycling programme.

Improved product nutrition

Through its NUTRI M program, the company says it is committed to improving the nutritional profile of its products. The NPD teams optimise recipes to combine health and indulgence, mainly by reducing sugar, salt, and saturated fat content and incorporating fiber and protein-rich ingredients whenever possible. In 2022, many products saw their Nutri Score improve by up to 2-3 letters.

Validated climate targets

The group has defined its path for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, with intermediate targets for reducing CO2e emissions by 2030, compared with a 2022 base year. The targets are: GHG emissions in absolute terms, scope 1 & 2, -50.9%; GHG emissions per tonne of products sold, scope 3 excluding agricultural products, -51.6%; and GHG emissions in absolute value FLAG scope 3 related to agricultural products, -30.3%. The targets were validated by the Science Based Targets initiative in June 2025.

Joined the UN Global Compact

The company says it has been a member of the United Nations Global Compact since 2014.
