Launched recycled hi-vis clothing

Leo Workwear says it was the first company in the UK to bring recycled high-visibility clothing to market in 2019. It later said that, by 2024, its full range had moved to the EcoViz brand. Used verified impact data

Leo Workwear worked with Green Story to analyse the supply chains of more than 100 EcoViz garments. The company used third-party verified life cycle assessment data, based on ISO 14040 and ISO 14044 standards, to show savings in carbon emissions, energy use, waste, and water. It also added this data to its online store and sustainability journal so customers could see the impact of product choices.

Measured carbon savings

Positive Planet said it measured 3,020 tonnes of COâ‚‚ emissions avoided since the EcoViz range began in 2019. COâ‚‚ is carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas that warms the planet. The consultancy also helped Leo Workwear organise its emissions data so the company could see which parts of the business create the most carbon and where to focus reductions.

Set up emissions reduction steps

Leo Workwear and Positive Planet outlined several practical steps to cut emissions. These include switching company vehicles to electric or hybrid models, doing more life cycle assessments, checking suppliers more often, looking at extra solar panels, and training staff on carbon literacy, which means understanding how everyday choices affect climate change.

Built ESG governance at LEO Foundation

The LEO Foundation says it has a code of conduct covering anti-bribery, anti-money laundering, financial controls, whistleblowing, and honest culture. It also says all financial investments are covered by an ESG policy, which means rules for managing environmental, social, and governance risks. The foundation also uses impact indicators to track the social effect of its grants and awards.
