Reach Real Zero in Australia
Fortescue says it aims to eliminate Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions from its Australian terrestrial iron ore operations by 2030. Scope 1 means direct emissions from its own operations, and Scope 2 means emissions from purchased electricity. The company says it will do this without voluntary carbon offsets and without carbon capture and storage.
