Became a B Corp

Chefsquare is now a certified B Corp™. With a score of 99.6, it joined the community of certified B Corps in November 2023. The company said the certification marked a new phase in its engaged approach and that it had already become a société à mission in 2022, inscribing social and environmental objectives in its statutes.

Received Ecotable labels

Chefsquare was audited on Impact by Écotable in 2021 and 2022. Chefsquare Bastille received its first Écotable macaron in 2021 and a second in 2022. Chefsquare Lyon and Beaubourg also obtained Écotable labelling in 2021.

Used seasonal organic products

Chefsquare said it chooses products of season from organic agriculture, prioritises short supply chains with local producers, and uses seasonal menus that evolve with arrivals and seasonality. It also said its fruit and vegetables are organic and seasonal, and that its meat is 100% French.

Reduced waste and biowaste

Chefsquare said it carries out careful waste sorting and values biowaste. It also said it created a compost to revalorise organic waste, suppressed aluminium coffee capsules and plastic cups, and works to reduce food waste by ordering as close as possible to needs.

Redistributed cooked portions

Chefsquare said it participates in the fight against food insecurity through solidarity cooking workshops. One cooked portion is distributed to associations that try to reduce food poverty.

Promoted inclusive cooking

Chefsquare said it promotes inclusive cuisine to address different diets and food intolerances. During team-building workshops, menus are adapted to different dietary requirements, and vegetarian and plant-based cooking classes are offered.

Trained teams and clients

Chefsquare said it sensitises teams and customers to sustainable food through training actions and the diffusion of educational content. It also said professional training is used to prepare participants to become the actors of tomorrow.
