Zola Africa Sustainability Actions

Supports female artisans

We partner with and mentors female artisans who need guidance on packaging and retailing their products online.

Uses ethical supply chain

Our mission is to enable small businesses to scale their operations and export out of Africa through an ethical supply chain.

Funds community improvements

The sale of each product goes back to improving the community, whether as water, sanitation, or education and creates a source of livelihood for the farmers.

Tracks product sourcing

We are involved in every step of the supply chain. Our Co-founder Misha, is based in Kenya and works closely with all the artisans, farmers and microentrepreneurs to ensure not only the quality of the product but also the sustainability. We know where each of our products are grown, harvested, manufactured and also understand their carbon footprints.

Tests products before export

Furthermore all our products are tested and issued with health certificates before export.

Promotes indigenous products

Upon a trip to Zimbabwe in 2018 they discovered a vast range of indigenous products, particularly Baobab, that were harvested primarily by women, it was then they decided to launch The Zola Collective to popularize such products and empower female farmers.
