Yuki Threads describes its approach as a “never ending journey of refinement” and says it is committed to creating positive change within its industry and abroad. The brand states that it is not sustainable, but that it aims to reduce its impact through material choices, supply-chain transparency, and recycling initiatives. It uses organic cotton, GOTS and Fairtrade certification, recycled polyester from plastic bottles, GRS certified recycled polyester, Bluesign approved fabrics where possible, and C0-DWR. It also requires social compliance certificates from suppliers and supports environmental organisations through 1% for the Planet.

Yuki Threads Sustainability Actions

Organic cotton materials 2

The only cotton we use and have used for the past 6 years is Organic. The virgin cotton we use is 100% organic, always. This is sourced from certified farmers from India.

Recycled polyester use

We use recycled polyester made from recycled plastic bottles for our synthetics in our outerwear, tech and accessories ranges using Blusesign approved fabrics where possible.

Social compliance for makers

All of our makers from outerwear to neck jocks are certified with social compliance with current audit certificates. Without exception, every supplier holds a current SA8000 or BSCI (or equivalent) social compliance certificate with current audits and reports that meet our standards.

1% for the Planet donations

We’re proud partners of 1% For The Planet. We donate 1% of all sales (not profit) to environmental grassroots organisations of our choosing, as a self imposed environmental tax.

Textile recovery project

Through our partnership with Upparel you can now send back 10kg for just $25 and for doing so, we'll reward you with a $25 discount to use in our online store! Reuse. Repurpose. Recycle. If they're in good condition then we can donate them for someone else to love. If they're past their prime then they can turn them into something new, like tote bags! If they're damaged they can be used to create new yarn or shredded and used for things like insulation or stuffing for pet beds.
