YSL Fragrance Sustainability Actions

Launched Rewild Our Earth

In partnership with global NGO Re:wild, YSL Beauty launches “Rewild Our Earth”, an ambitious program aimed at protecting and restoring, by 2030, some 100,000 hectares (almost 250,000 acres) of the world’s surface. This total area includes sites in Morocco, Haiti, Madagascar, and Indonesia where YSL’s beauty ingredients are sourced, areas seriously affected by climate change.

Worked on biodiversity sites

For 2022, “Rewild our Earth” focused on biodiversity in the Ourika Valley in Morocco, Haiti linked with vetiver sourcing, Madagascar related to vanilla and geranium sourcing, and Indonesia linked with patchouli sourcing. The brand said it was helping to reverse desertification in 1,000 hectares of land in Morocco, reforest and save primary forests in Haiti, plant over 400,000 trees in Madagascar by 2023, and restore 30,000 hectares of forests in Indonesia.

Released first sustainability report

To further express this commitment to transparency, YSL Beauty has also released its first sustainability report, which highlights the brand’s sustainability efforts across every part of its business.

Renewed sustainability platform

The brand has recently renewed its sustainability platform, known as ‘Change the Rules, Change the Future,’ which includes three key pillars: Rewild Our Earth, Reduce Our Impact, and Abuse Is Not Love.
