What do our labels mean?

VOTARY is a British skincare brand founded by Arabella Preston and Charlotte Semler. Its sustainability and ethics information centres on vegan and cruelty-free products, recyclable outer paper and card packaging, recyclable glass bottles, and FSC- and PEFC-certified box manufacturers. The brand says it does not test ingredients, formulas or finished products on animals, and that every company it works with has a cruelty-free policy. Vegan and cruelty-free products

Votary is proudly vegan and no Votary products contain any animal derived ingredients. Votary products are cruelty free. We do not test any of our ingredients, formulas or finished products on animals. We ensure our products are cruelty-free every step of the way.

Recyclable packaging materials

All of our outer paper and card packaging is recyclable. Our box manufacturers are FSC & PEFC certified, and they support the World Land Trust to offset any emissions produced during manufacture. We use recyclable glass bottles which also work to preserve our luxurious oils from over-exposure to sunlight and heat. The glass pipette vials can be carefully separated and put in glass recycling. Our plastic pumps are currently not recyclable and we are looking into alternatives.

RSPO certified ingredients

Palm oil derivatives are present within some ingredients in Votary products. Every ingredient we use is RSPO certified. We continue to work with all our suppliers to source only the most environmentally responsible ingredients in keeping with our vegan and cruelty-free status.

No free samples offered

We don't offer samples as sample packaging is not enviromentally sustainable. Instead we offer a 28 day money back guarantee if the Votary products you choose do not suit your skin.

Small fresh batches

We make all our products in small, fresh batches. This means that there can sometimes be slight differences in colour and fragrance which is in keeping with their natural origins.
