Net zero emissions target
Virgin Australia says it has committed to target net zero emissions by 2050. In plain terms, net zero means cutting emissions as much as possible and balancing any remaining emissions with removals or offsets. The airline says it plans to get there through fleet modernisation, operational efficiency, lower ground emissions, better waste management, and alternative fuels where commercially viable.
