v2food Sustainability Actions

Launched plant-based meat products

v2food was launched in 2018 out of the CSIRO’s Innovation Fund. It has some “fake meat” products but also a unique process which makes its products easier to produce. v2food products do not contain GMOs or any artificial colours or flavourings.

Expanded into multiple markets

Today the company sits in over 15 countries and on supermarket shelves, having moved from niche novelty to mainstream staple through strategic partnerships and product realism.

Built localised supply chains

v2food is reallocating capital and resources to high-growth Asian markets, tailoring SKUs to local taste profiles and building localized supply chains to cut logistics costs and carbon intensity.

Invested in manufacturing efficiency

The company combines advanced texture-structuring for legume fibers with a data-driven production footprint-AI quality control, automation at the Wodonga plant, and regenerative-agriculture traceability-to lower cost per unit, reduce carbon intensity, and accelerate mainstream adoption.

Reduced additives in R&D

R&D reduced additives (notably methylcellulose) while keeping structure, supporting consumer preference for simpler ingredient lists.

Acquired Daring Foods

v2food has snapped up US vegan chicken leader Daring Foods and inked a strategic partnership with Japan’s Ajinomoto.
