Trafalgar Marquees Sustainability Actions

Certified B Corporation

We’re massively excited to be part of a global community of businesses committed to positively impact all people, communities and the planet. It’s confirmation of what we’ve been working hard to achieve — using business as a force for good.

Reduced fleet emissions

Our fleet vehicles are, on average, less than four years old. As each comes up for renewal it will be replaced with a hybrid or electric vehicle. The nature of our business means we do a lot of mileage, so we are doing everything we can to reduce the impact of the mileage.

Removed single-use plastics

We are aiming to completely remove single-use plastics from the business. Every member of our team has an insulated water bottle to remove the need for buying bottles.

Office recycling process

We have a strict recycling process in the office, diverting as much of the waste that we produce from landfill as possible. Bins are clearly marked, and there are posters around the bins and office to help label what can and can’t be accepted.

Energy reduction measures

Low energy bulbs are used throughout the warehouse and yard, with a plan to install solar power to provide all electricity very soon. Combined with the fact that installing, and dismantling, marquees uses far less energy than alternatives, we are minimising the amount of energy we use.

Repair and reuse

Whenever possible we repair, rather than replace, the component parts of our marquees, including the PVC sheets, the aluminium poles and flooring. Carpeting is reused whenever possible and often for alternative uses around the yard. Anything we can do to reduce what needs to go to landfill.

Green hosting

This website is powered by 100% renewable energy. The data centre is certified by SSE.

Carbon neutral status

We are committed to reducing our carbon footprint and mitigating the impact of our business on the environment. With this goal in mind, we successfully achieved carbon neutral status in July 2023.

Planet Mark achieved

We’ve already achieved the Planet Mark, which recognises our commitment to continuous improvement in sustainability. We’re actively measuring and reducing our carbon emissions, energy and water consumption, travel, and waste to ensure we’re doing our part for the environment.
