The Nursery Research & Planning Ltd is a market research agency that has set out a carbon reduction plan and is a signatory to the MRS Net Zero Pledge. Its published plan states a commitment to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2026, with a baseline year of 2019 and reporting for 2023 showing reduced emissions against that baseline. The company says it has already reduced emissions through hybrid working and lower business travel, and it is now focusing on further reductions in travel, accommodation choices, and information technology. It also references compliance with the UK Government’s Policy Procurement Note 06/21 and board sign-off of its carbon reduction plan.

The Nursery Research & Planning Ltd Sustainability Actions

Signed the MRS Net Zero Pledge

The Nursery is pleased to be a signatory to the MRS Net Zero Pledge which commits us to being Carbon Neutral by 2026. We also comply with the UK Government’s Policy Procurement Note 06/21, and the following outlines our Carbon Reduction Plan in the Cabinet Office’s approved format.

Set a 2019 baseline year

We have chosen 2019 as our baseline year as it records our last full year of normal business activity prior to the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown.

Reported 2023 emissions

Reporting Year: 2023 ... Total emissions 177.697

Reduced emissions through hybrid work

A shift to hybrid working (especially in 2020 when most employees worked from home for most of the year) ... Whilst these reductions will not remain in place in their entirety as working practices adapt, we expect both initiatives to carry on in a 'hybrid' model with a mix of remote and face to face both for office-based working and qualitative research.

Reduced business travel

A reduction in business travel, which was our greatest source of GHG emissions in 2019. Most qualitative research was conducted face to face until 2020; since then most has been conducted online.
