B Corp certification achieved

Thankyou Group became a Certified B Corporation in March 2024 and received a B Impact Score of 102.1. B Corp certification is given by B Lab, a nonprofit that checks how a company performs on social and environmental issues, governance, and transparency. A score above 50.9 is enough to qualify, so this result suggests the group met the standard by a wide margin.

Set supplier conduct rules

Thankyou has set Responsible Business Expectations for its partners and direct suppliers. It says suppliers must follow its Code of Conduct, and new suppliers need to meet those standards by the time production starts. Existing direct suppliers are expected to be compliant within 12 months, using either an audit or a self-assessment questionnaire depending on risk. This is meant to improve labour, environmental, and governance practices across the supply chain.

Measured emissions with a baseline

The company says it measures operational and product greenhouse gas emissions using financial year 2020 as its baseline. Greenhouse gas emissions are the gases linked to climate change, and a baseline is the starting point used to track progress over time. Thankyou says this baseline was externally validated by a third-party environmental audit, which adds outside checking to the numbers it reports.

Started packaging targets

Thankyou has adopted packaging goals based on Australia’s National Packaging Targets. These include making packaging reusable, recyclable, or compostable, increasing recycled content, and phasing out problematic single-use plastics. The company also says its finished-goods manufacturing facilities should have a zero-waste policy by the end of 2027. These steps are aimed at reducing waste from consumer packaging.

Joined reporting initiatives

Thankyou says it is a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact, which asks companies to follow principles on human rights, labour, the environment, and anti-corruption. It also says it is a member of the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation, a group that works on packaging reuse, recycling, and circularity, meaning materials stay in use for longer instead of becoming waste. The company says it reports progress on the initiatives it joins.
