Studio 8 by Phase Eight Sustainability Actions

Joined Ethical Trading Initiative

We joined the Ethical Trading Initiative in 2019 and this accelerated our efforts to address labour and workers’ rights. We also ensure our partners values are aligned with ours with comprehensive supplier risk assessment and supply chain mapping.

Swapped packaging sources

We have swapped all our packaging to be sustainable. We now use paper and cardboard from FSC certified sources in an effort to reduce plastic waste.

Reduced environmental impact

We are taking conscious steps to assess the impacts of our business. We are working towards reducing the impacts of transport and distribution, while expanding the use of renewable energy and improving efficiencies in the buildings where we operate, design and sell our products.

Used EIM low-impact scoring

Currently, the majority of our denim is assessed using the Jeanologia Environmental Impact Measurement software (EIM) which was created to measure and monitor the environmental impact of garment finishing. Any product that carries a EIM Low-Impact label has been finished with less energy, less water, less chemicals and better protection for workers health.

Expanded responsible materials

Over the last four years, Phase Eight has questioned where and how the raw materials we use are grown and produced, supporting us to make better decisions and source more responsible material alternatives that address key issues such as traceability, land management and agriculture, biodiversity, animal welfare and decent work.
