Achieved B Corp certification

As of March 2024, State of Escape is a proud B Corporation, having achieved an overall score of 87.9 on B Lab’s Impact Assessment. The process of becoming a B Corporation was rigorous, exacting and necessitated in depth consultation and examination of our practices and procedures – an honest review of our impact.

Uses made-to-order production

State of Escape works to minimize our environmental impact across our localised operations and supply chain through the application of a made to order production model, mitigating the risks associated with surplus inventory and overproduction.

Sources locally in Sydney

A majority of our non-labour expenses are spent with local suppliers, makers and vendors, located within an 80km radius of our head office in Sydney, Australia. In our B Lab Impact Assessment, State of Escape scored highly in regard to our positive contribution to local economic growth.

Member of SEDEX

State of Escape is a member of SEDEX, the Supplier Ethical Data Exchange, which is the largest collaborative platform for sharing ethical supply chain data. SEDEX offers an internationally recognised audit program that follows the standards set out by the International Labor Organization (ILO) and Ethical Trade Initiative (ETI).

Uses supplier screening

We engage in comprehensive and prerequisite supplier screening at the outset of a working relationship, so that we can determine if we would be partnering with a supplier whose values align with ours.

Code of Conduct and EMS

Our Code of Conduct exists to define standards for fair, safe and healthy working conditions, and environmental responsibility throughout our supply chain. Our Environmental Management System is ISO14000 compliant and is comprised of an Environmental Action Plan and our Social & Environmental policy.

Recycles neoprene excess

Neoprene excess is responsibly recycled via our partner rubber recycling mills, where it is turned into flooring for playgrounds, gyms, equestrian arenas and more.

Removed virgin plastic

All virgin plastic has been eliminated from primary and secondary product packaging and compostable mailers are used for ecommerce shipments.
