Mars Sustainability Commitments
2030
Cut value-chain emissions by half
Mars says it aims to reduce total greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain by 50% by 2030 compared with 2015. This includes emissions from its own operations and from suppliers, transport, and other parts of the supply chain. The target is part of its wider climate plan and is linked to science-based climate action.
2050
Reach net zero emissions
Mars says it is on the path to net zero by 2050. Net zero means cutting emissions as much as possible and balancing the rest with removals or offsets. The company says this goal covers its full value chain, not just its own factories and offices.
2040
Use 100% renewable electricity
Mars says it aims to move all of its operations to renewable electricity by 2040. Renewable electricity comes from sources such as wind and solar, which do not burn fossil fuels. The company says it has already made progress, but it has not yet reached the full target.
2027
Improve supplier incomes
Mars says it wants to help 30% of suppliers earn a living income by 2027. A living income is the amount a household needs for a decent standard of living, not just survival. The company links this goal to farmer livelihoods and supply chain resilience.
