Seed Heritage Sustainability Actions

Supplier conduct and audits

Seed Heritage apparel and accessories are sourced from a range of countries, including China, India, Vietnam, and Australia. Our contract with each supplier is the same - we request transparency and the ability to check the conditions under which our product is made. The Brandbank Group Code of Supplier Conduct applies to all factories we work with, and compliance records must be signed and adhered to by both suppliers and third parties. Our manufacturers, regardless of location, are audited and must adhere to ethical and social standards.

Zero tolerance standards

We have zero tolerance for child labour, discrimination, corruption, bribery, or animal cruelty. Safe working conditions and fair pay must be ensured.

Chemical substance standard

We have voluntarily adopted a very strict European Union standard which addresses the production and use of chemical substances, and their potential impacts on both human health and the environment, regulating substances such as lead, cadmium and a group of aromatic amines originating from a small number of synthetic azo dyes. We ban the manufacture and sale of goods that contain prohibited levels of specific hazardous substances, including azo dyes.

Packaging and office materials

Seed Heritage is committed to reducing its environmental impact. Our shopping bags and packaging are made from 40% post-consumer content and are fully recyclable. This includes product labels and swing tags. Within the business, we’re phasing out single-use plastic and in our offices, we use recycled paper and favour sustainably sourced supplies.

Pre-loved garment donations

At Seed Heritage, we encourage our customers to donate their pre-loved Seed garments and accessories to Sacred Heart Mission. This keeps quality garments out of landfill and helps to support the organisation’s generous work within our community.

Make-A-Wish partnership

Since 2018, Seed Heritage has partnered with Make-A-Wish to help grant life-changing wishes to critically ill children. Customers are invited to participate by donating a gold coin in exchange for bespoke festive gift wrapping and a wrapping service. The donation goes directly to Make-A-Wish and we have raised $718,225.55 to date.

ALNF Book Week item

Through our ongoing partnership with the Australian Literacy & Numeracy Foundation (ALNF), we support their vital work in remote and disadvantaged communities across the country. Each year, Seed Heritage produces a limited-edition bespoke item coinciding with Book Week. $10 from every sale goes directly to the ALNF for the duration of the campaign.

Jeans for Genes campaign

We run an annual campaign in support of Jeans for Genes Children’s Medical Research Institute, which is devoted to finding treatments and cures for genetic conditions which are currently incurable. During this period, $20 from the sale of full-price denim is donated to Jeans for Genes.

Leather Working Group member

Leather Working Group is a not-for-profit multi-stakeholder organisation committed to reducing the environmental impact of leather manufacturing, by setting environmental criteria against which leather manufacturers are independently audited and certified. As a proud member, Seed Heritage supports this mission of greater transparency and continuous improvement, helping to create more responsible leather production.
