Reduced water, waste and emissions

We have been reducing water consumption, waste and emissions for decades. Now we are driving forward solutions in the circular economy. We are developing innovative processes together with customers and processing companies.

Green electricity across all sites

Using green electricity across all sites (operational since 2021). Green electricity is sourced via Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and locally sourced, third-party verified Energy Attribute Certificates (EACs).

Joined SBTi

We have therefore joined the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The independent review confirmed that our targets align with the latest climate science.

UN Global Compact participant

We are a participant of the UN Global Compact network. We thus support the world’s largest and most important initiative for sustainable and responsible corporate governance.

Charter of Diversity signed

By signing the Charter of Diversity, we are sending a clear signal in favor of diversity and tolerance. In doing so, we show our appreciation for all our employees.

Awarded for energy efficiency

In 2025, the Effinet@SCHOTT 3.0 project was recognized for its commitment to energy efficiency as part of the federal government and trade associations' Energy Efficiency and Climate Protection Networks initiative. During the two-year project period, participating SCHOTT sites saved approximately 42,000 megawatt hours (MWh) of energy, €3.4 million in energy costs, and over 11,000 tons of CO₂ equivalents.

Supply chain sustainability award

In 2024, the Sustainability Championship Award from the Berlin Institute Supply Chain Management recognized our commitment to responsible, sustainable business practices and a transparent, ethical supply chain.

EcoVadis Silver rating

In 2025, the international sustainability rating agency EcoVadis awarded SCHOTT a Silver rating. With a score of 75 out of 100, SCHOTT ranks among the top 8% of companies assessed worldwide, placing us in the leading group within the glass industry.
