Carbon accounting and tracking

Carbon Footprint Analysis: Assist in the carbon accounting of Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions and ongoing tracking of the organization’s carbon footprint, including life cycle assessment (LCA) of products, factory analyses and advising on the establishment of realistic goals for future emissions remediation.

Renewable electricity target met

Elevance Health met its 100% renewable electricity target in 2021 — four years ahead of schedule.

Scope 1 and 2 baseline set

In 2022, we introduced a centralized system to track our energy usage at all of our site locations, allowing us to establish a baseline of Scope 1 & 2 Greenhouse Gas (“GHG”) Emissions from our own operations.

Waste diversion and recycling

We work closely with our delivery network, distribution centers, Home Office facilities teams, Galleries and Outlets to divert packaging, product and other forms of waste from landfills. When possible, we reuse and repurpose packaging materials and donate products to minimize waste in landfills.

FSC paper use

Our Sourcebooks are printed – and have been printed for a number of years – on Forest Stewardship Council (or FSC) Certified Catalog Paper. We also promote a paperless alternative to Sourcebooks through the presentation of our Sourcebooks digitally.

LED lighting upgrades

In 2025, we continued to advance our environmental stewardship initiatives across our Home Office campus. We maintained the use of “No Mow” grass, a drought-resistant alternative that requires less frequent mowing and helps reduce emissions associated with gas-powered lawn equipment. In addition, we enhanced energy efficiency by replacing chandelier lighting with LED bulbs in our Center of Innovation and across several other campus buildings.
