Lincoln Public Schools waste work

Lincoln Public Schools says it adopted a Sustainability Policy in 2019 and has worked for years on energy efficiency, recycling, and school gardens. In 2024, it diverted 56% of waste from landfills and recycled more than 2.7 million pounds of material. It also composted over 1.1 million pounds of waste. Composting means turning food scraps and other organic waste into material that can help soil.
