Ruuts is a regenerative agriculture platform focused on helping producers transition to land management that regenerates soil rather than degrading it. The available content places Ruuts within carbon markets and nature-based solutions, including the South American Regenerative Agriculture (SARA) programme. Ruuts is described as working with farmers, field professionals, and local partners to support monitoring, training, and technical assistance, with an emphasis on measurable climate, nature, and livelihood outcomes. Its work is linked to carbon removals, soil health, biodiversity, and rural resilience across Argentina, Paraguay, and Chile.

Ruuts Sustainability Actions

Represented Ruuts at forum

Pablo Francisco Borrelli represented Ruuts at the Argentina Carbon Forum in a discussion panel alongside Marcelo Sebben (Verifit Group), Federico Schäfer (Alianza del Pastizal - Aves Argentinas), and Sandra Carrillo Hoyos (ERM), moderated by Ana Lamas. The discussion focused on what makes the regenerative transition real and mainstream, and how to make it scalable and permanent.

Issued first Verra VCUs

The South American Regenerative Agriculture (SARA) programme achieved its first Verified Carbon Units (VCUs) through Verra. The first monitoring period (2019–2023) was verified, resulting in the issuance of over 200,000 carbon removal credits. The programme is described as the largest to be registered and issued under VM0042 in Argentina, Paraguay and Chile.

Digitised MRV system

All monitoring data in SARA is recorded via the Ruuts Monitoring App, integrated with remote sensing technologies, enabling a fully digitised Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) system aligned with the Grassland Regeneration and Sustainability Standard (GRASS).

Supported farm training

Through the Ovis 21 Regeneration School and a decentralised network of accredited Field Professionals, participating farmers receive regular training and intensive on-farm support, including ecological assessments, water infiltration tests, and soil sampling.

Ruuts Sustainability Commitments

2028

Annual removals from 2028

Annual issuance volumes are expected to increase year-on-year, with over one million tonnes of COâ‚‚e removals forecast annually from 2028 onwards, subject to continued verification and programme expansion.

2030

Expand to 500,000 hectares

The SARA programme currently supports more than 130 farms managing approximately 150,000 hectares of rangeland, with farmer participation and land area expected to grow significantly as the programme scales toward a target of 500,000 hectares.
