Reunion Coffee Roasters Sustainability Actions

B Corp since 2013

Reunion Coffee Roasters has been a Certified B Corporation since 2013, signifying the company's commitment to meeting rigorous standards for social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency.

Renewable energy roasting facility

Their 46,000-square-foot roasting facility, one of Canada's largest renewable energy-powered roasting facilities, is based in Oakville, Ontario.

First major roaster with Bullfrog Power

In 1995, Reunion deepend its focus on sustainability with the purchase of its first FairTrade and Organic Coffees, becoming the first major roaster to utilise renewable energy through a partnership with Bullfrog Power.

Clean water support in Uganda

Through their sponsorship, they are providing sustainable and locally made bio-sand water purifiers that will provide safe drinking water to families in Uganda, Africa. As part of the Cup for Cup program, Reunion funds clean water filters for families, in an amount equivalent to the water used by their roasting facility in Oakville as well as the estimated amount of water used by the Swiss Water® Process to decaffeinate coffee for Reunion.

Natural gas reduction

With support from Enviro-Stewards Inc. engineering services, Reunion’s natural gas consumption has already been cut by 1/3 (by optimizing their thermal oxidizer).
