Certified B Corporation

Prolog Coffee says it opened in 2016 with the mission to give guests and wholesale customers an amazing coffee experience and to make a fun workplace for staff. In 2018, it began looking more closely at the sustainability of its operations and how they affect the ecosystem around it. The company became a certified B Corporation in 2022 and re-certified in 2025. It publishes annual sustainability reports and a transparency table showing FOB prices for the green coffees it buys, reflecting an interest in tracking payments to producers and reviewing its own environmental and social performance.

Prolog Coffee Sustainability Actions

Certified B Corporation

In 2022 these contemplations led us to proudly become a certified B Corporation. In 2025 we re-certifed as a B Corporation. The process gave us the opportunity to check in on all aspects of the company and acknowledge our growth and development. We are proud to have received a higher score than last.

Published annual reports

Every year we make a sustainability report where you can see what steps we have taken and what we are currently working on. You can read our latest sustainability report here: Sustainability Report 2024, Sustainability Report 2023, Sustainability Report 2022.

Tracked green coffee prices

As a part of tracking our payments of green coffee we have recorded the FOB* prices on the green coffees we buy in a table of transparency. For our buyings last year you can find the table here: Prolog Transparency Table 2024. *FOB stands for “Free On Board” and refers to the price paid for the green coffee when the coffee is loaded on the cargo ship in the port of the origin country.

Measured Scope 1 and 2

The past years, we have spent much time thinking about scopes, scope 1 (our own direct emissions), scope 2 (the energy we purchase for our production) and scope 3 (our supplies, travel, freight, etc.). We have measured, collected data, made intricate analysis, you name it. Only to find out that this data work didn’t reduce our emissions.

Raised pension and onboarding

This included raising our pension rate, introducing a new and much improved onboarding program for new staff members, updated and improved employee satisfaction survey, and the creation of a framework on social and environmental development on the coffee farms with whom we collaborate.
