B Corp certification journey

The Progeny Group said it began its sustainability journey in many areas and wanted a centralised framework to monitor all its activities and hold it accountable for meaningful improvement, which is what B Corp Certification offered. It said clients were increasingly wanting to understand more about its own activities and ethics, especially as a business that advises clients on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) investing.

Waste and water reduction

The Progeny Group said it had already begun its sustainability journey in many areas, including initiatives such as waste and water reduction, centralised travel booking and local supplier sourcing, as well as working with third parties that specialise in carbon offsetting and carbon credits.

Advising on ESG investing

The Progeny Group said it advises clients on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) investing. It also said many of the B Corp values already aligned with its published corporate values and the way it does business.

Investing in biodiversity

In its article 'Investing in biodiversity' dated 30th May 2022, Progeny said biodiversity provides clean air, fresh water, organically rich soil and crop pollination, and helps fight climate change and adapt to it. It also said the Environment Act 2021 contains provisions for the protection and improvement of the environment, including introducing biodiversity net gain.
