The company says these initiatives are intended to help sustainably solve local water scarcity, improve schools and community facilities, and support education and youth development in Thailand and Lao PDR. CKPower also states that its business conduct is guided by good ethics and responsibility to society and stakeholders, and it was included in the Thailand Sustainability Investment (THSI) 2020 list.

Hinghoi Project community support

The Company has conducted the Hinghoi Project for the fifth consecutive year as an endeavor to develop communities surrounding affiliated power plants both in Lao People's Democratic Republic and Thailand, namely Nam Ngum 2 Hydroelectric Power Plant in Lao PDR and Bangpa-in Cogeneration Power Plant in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya.

Community water wells in Lao PDR

For the communities around Nam Ngum 2 Hydroelectric Power Plant in Lao PDR, the Company has supported the drilling of community water wells in order to alleviate the shortage of water for utility and consumption by locals within the communities.

Renovation of Baan Poan Pa Center

CKPower has also contributed to the renovation of the Baan Poan Pa Center for Peace, which functions as the community jail and consistently conducted CSR activities for communities surrounding the power plant.

School improvements near Nam Ngum 2

The Company deployed engineers from CKPower Group to survey Hin Hua Suea Nursery School in Chai Somboon, located near the power plant, and draw up plans for the improvement of the school' buildings, toilets, and drinking water system. This project is expected to be completed within the first half of 2021.

Wat Kudi Prasit School facilities

In Thailand, CKPower has collaborated with Bangpa-in Cogeneration Company Limited and subsidiaries to improve the facilities of Wat Kudi Prasit School in Tambon Cha Maep, Wang Noi District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya. The projects consist of landscaping the garden, the flag pole, and the playground; landscaping the Science Garden; pouring concrete flooring in the young children’s playground; painting the playground; painting two school buildings; renovating and improving terraces and hallways; converting an old pavilion into a general-use space for reading; along with providing scholarship funds and sports clothing and equipment to students.
