Pink House Mustique presents its sustainability position through slow fashion, considered design and local production. Since its inception, the brand says it has taken inspiration from Caribbean nature and aims to protect the natural environment through considered design, production and ways of working. It focuses on timeless designs, high quality and durable fabrics, minimizing waste, and using natural fabrics where possible. Where natural materials are not practical, it uses recycled materials, including Repreve® made from recycled plastic bottles rescued from the ocean. The brand also refers to flexible working, local manufacturing in St Vincent and the Grenadines and Dorset, and packaging choices that are recycled, recyclable, biodegradable or compostable.

Pink House Mustique Sustainability Actions

Slow fashion and durability

Slow fashion, enduring timeless design. Minimizing waste. Our hope is for each Pink House product to be worn for years to come and be passed on through the generations. Rather than following trends, we focus on timeless designs made out of high quality and durable fabrics.

Natural and recycled materials

Our primary selection of fabrics are natural. Where this is not practical or possible for the application in which they are intended we choose recycled materials, such as our Repreve® swim short fabric which is made out of recycled plastic bottles rescued from the ocean.

Flexible working arrangements

As a women-led business and a fully female team, it's important that we provide flexible working arrangements. Many of our employees work part-time to allow them to make school pick-ups and be around for their families and friends.

Local production and small runs

Where possible, Lotty manufactures locally in St Vincent and the Grenadines or in her Atelier in Dorset, England producing small-run limited edition designs to create something truly unique.

Sustainable packaging choices

Wherever possible we choose packaging materials that are produced from recycled materials that are also recyclable and biodegradable. Including: compostable dustbags; compostable hangtags; non toxic dyes and recyclable gift boxes and warehouse packaging.
