Reduced GHG intensity

Pilgrim’s reported a 23.0% reduction in Scope 1 & 2 GHG emission intensity from 2019 to 2024, and a 19% decrease in absolute Scope 1 & 2 GHG emissions from 2019 to 2024.

Expanded renewable electricity

In 2024, 21.1% of the total electricity used in Pilgrim’s global operations was renewable. The company also reported 21% renewable energy use.

Implemented emissions projects

Pilgrim’s said more than 150 GHG emission reduction projects were approved for implementation, and more than $18.7 million was invested in 64+ greenhouse gas emission reduction projects in its facilities.

Improved safety performance

Pilgrim’s said it achieved a 39% improvement in the Global Safety Index since 2019, surpassing its 30% goal.

Launched animal welfare scorecard

Pilgrim’s launched its global Animal Welfare Scorecard, created by Pilgrim’s animal welfare teams using a combination of indicators selected for their importance to the health and welfare of its animals.

Completed community projects

Pilgrim’s completed over 100 infrastructure and social services projects across the US through its $15 million Pilgrim’s Hometown Strong initiative.

Worked with producer partners

Pilgrim’s said it partnered with more than 6,000 livestock and poultry producer partners, providing payments of more than $2.2 billion.

Certified facilities to ISO 14001

Pilgrim’s reported that 50% of its production facilities had ISO 14001 accreditation, and that 38 facilities received third-party certification against ISO 14001 standards in 2024.
