What do our labels mean?

ORESA is the Offshore Renewable Energy Sustainability Alliance, an accelerator programme focused on SMEs developing products, technologies and services for the offshore renewable energy sector. Its content centres on sustainability requirements in offshore wind, wave, tidal energy and the blue economy, with emphasis on life cycle assessment, circularity, nature-inclusive design, policy frameworks and the balance between profitability and environmental performance. The programme also highlights biodiversity loss, material circularity and compliance with EU regulations as key issues for the sector. It works through training, expert support and international networking.

ORESA Sustainability Actions

Second Innovation Call opened

The ORESA Accelerator Programme's second Innovation Call is now open. It is seeking SMEs with groundbreaking solutions (TRL 4-6) in the North-West Europe region who are developing innovative products, technologies, or services within the offshore renewable energy sector; including offshore wind, wave, tidal energy, and blue economy suppliers.

First Innovation Call launched

The ORESA Accelerator Programme's first Innovation Call was opened for SMEs in offshore renewable energy. Selected SMEs joined an acceleration journey that combined networking, pitch sessions, lectures, and case studies, with themes including Life Cycle Assessment & Circularity, Nature-Inclusive Design, Policies for Sustainability, and Profitability through Sustainability.

Training and support offered

ORESA offers SMEs access to training and expertise that are otherwise difficult to reach. The programme provides tailored support to strengthen market positioning and sharpen pitches, practical tools for Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), circularity, and nature-inclusive design, and clarity on European and Belgian policy frameworks and sustainability requirements.

Belgian Hub training week

Selected SMEs will join an intensive training week in Ostend from 7-10 September 2026 to explore four essential themes for the future of offshore renewables: Linking Profitability & Sustainability, Life Cycle Assessment & Circularity, Nature-Inclusive Design, and Policies for Sustainability.
