Oolie Inc Sustainability Actions

Certified B Corp status

Oolie says it is a Certified B Corp and publicly accountable in how it runs its business. The B Corp certification documents Oolie’s environmental and social impact, because the two measures are interdependent. Oolie has been certified since April 27, 2023.

Benefit company reporting

Oolie Inc is registered with the state of California as a benefit company. That means it structures its business activities to create positive social and environmental changes for all. As a benefit company, it is required to publish an annual report documenting its business activities and impacts from the prior year.

Organic bedding and baby products

Oolie’s 100% organic cotton bedding is described as soft, clean, and safe for families. The company says its GOTS-certified 100% organic cotton bedding is made without pesticides, harsh chemicals, and exploitation. It designs every product to help families rest.

Annual GHG assessment

In 2024, Oolie conducted a comprehensive GHG assessment, which included Scope 1-3 emissions. The company says it will conduct annual inventories, which will allow it to set GHG reduction goals over time.

Materials audit completed

In 2025, Oolie conducted its first comprehensive materials audit to understand everything that it buys, uses, and ships, to set a progressive plan to reduce, reuse, recycle, and recover materials. It is working with vendors to reduce material usage in shipping to fulfillment centers and to establish waste reduction goals.

Packaging transparency

Oolie discloses the exact material types on its packaging and website, along with specific instructions on how to dispose of them. It says this transparency is part of an effort to reduce consumer confusion and "wishcycling."

Living wage base rates

As part of its remote-first hiring policy, Oolie continues to commit to base rates that exceed the living wage, as indexed in the Living Wage Calculator.

Fair Trade suppliers

Oolie continues to cultivate relationships with Fair Trade-certified suppliers. It says the Fair Trade certification means that the vendor’s employees are not being exploited and that Oolie is neither benefiting from nor tacitly endorsing any such exploitation.

Local sourcing priorities

When evaluating new potential vendors, Oolie prioritizes companies located nearby, especially in its same bioregion. It says that only if local partnerships are not feasible will it consider vendors from further afield, and that its intent is to have as much of its raw materials and manufacturing sourced as locally as possible.
