Natural Vitality Sustainability Actions

B Corp accredited

The Precious Pea, part of our larger company, 'Natural Vitality', has managed to earn an amazing 94 out of 200, during an overall impact assessment.

Approved by key bodies

We are approved by the Soil Association, SALSA and most recently B Corp.

Solar panels installed

Natural Vitality were awarded a £15,000 Green Business Grant from the Combined Authority to install solar photovoltaic (PV) panels on the roof of their production units, providing a peak output of 35kWp when the sun is shining. The estimated impact of carrying out this work was: Around 60% of annual electricity needs met by solar panels, over £4,470 annual saving on energy bills and 14.3 tCO2e annual reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.

Office heater replaced

As well as the solar panels, Natural Vitality also replaced an inefficient fan heater in their office with an infrared radiant panel heater, as recommended in their Carbon Survey. Instead of heating air, radiant heaters are much more efficient by directly heating the person nearby, reducing heating energy by around 80%.

Organic ingredients sourced

We make everything by hand in small batches, so whether it’s personally sourcing the very best organic ingredients, getting to know our customers, creating delicious new recipes or simply sharing lunch round our table, the same principles apply.
