Moynat is a French house founded in 1849 and now part of LVMH’s Fashion & Leather Goods division. Its heritage is rooted in trunk making, with Pauline Moynat credited with inventing the “English Trunk” and introducing waterproof canvas made from gutta-percha. The brand’s sustainability-related content available here is limited, but it does reference external assurance, ESG reporting, and CSRD/ESRS discussions in professional posts. On the product side, Moynat continues to present leather goods and accessories, including canvas bags and trunks, with an emphasis on craftsmanship, archival references, and customisation.

Discussed ESG assurance

External assurance plays a key role in enhancing trust and confidence in financial and non-financial reporting. The Public Interest Oversight Board certified on November 12th the International Standard on Sustainability Assurance - #ISSA5000 general requirements developed by the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB). This significant milestone for ESG reporting assurance opens the way for forthcoming EU assurance standards for #CSRD assurance.

Commented on CSRD reports

#Deloitte Global analyzed 20 commercial banks in the first wave of Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (#CSRD #ESRS) reports and the findings are clear: 100% identified E1: Climate Change and S1: Own Workforce as material issues. More than half of these banks also listed biodiversity (E4) as material.

Referenced sustainability frameworks

When companies talk about ESG reporting, it is not just about good intentions. It is about following structured, globally recognized frameworks that make sustainability measurable and comparable. Over the years, different institutions have shaped how organizations disclose their impact and performance: GRI focuses on the impact on economy, environment, and people; ISSB focuses on investor-related disclosures; CSRD introduces mandatory sustainability reporting in the European Union using the concept of double materiality; SASB provides industry-specific standards for financial materiality and is now integrated into ISSB.

Opened Avenue Montaigne boutique

Moynat continues to grow in Paris with the opening of a new boutique at 34 Avenue Montaigne, in the heart of the capital’s famed Golden Triangle luxury shopping district. To celebrate the opening, Moynat introduced a limited-edition capsule of tote bags, part of its M collection, crafted in Moynat’s signature brown canvas with contrasting outlines inspired by archive trunks. British artist Michael Samuels created a special window installation for the opening.
