Used some recycled nylon

Good On You says Moncler has started using lower-impact materials in some products. It reported that more than 15% of the nylon used in the brand’s spring/summer and fall/winter 2022 collections came from recycled materials. Recycled nylon is nylon made from waste material instead of new fossil-based feedstock. The same source also says Moncler has recycled some textile offcuts, which are leftover pieces from production that would otherwise be discarded.

Set an emissions target

Good On You reports that Moncler has set a science-based target to cut greenhouse gas emissions in both its direct operations and its supply chain. A science-based target is a climate goal that follows methods used by climate scientists. The source says the brand claims it is on track to meet that target. This is a positive step, but the same assessment says there is still little evidence of broader action on water use.

Went fur-free in 2022

In January 2022, Moncler committed to going fur-free. Good On You says the brand does not appear to use angora or exotic animal skin either. It also notes that Moncler still uses leather, wool, exotic animal hair, and some recycled down in its products. This means the brand has reduced some animal-related risks, but it has not removed all animal-derived materials from its range.
