Cut Scope 1 and 2 emissions
Mizuno plans to reduce Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 50.4% by FY2030 compared with FY2018. Scope 1 covers direct emissions from the company’s own operations, and Scope 2 covers emissions from purchased electricity and energy. This target is part of its wider climate plan.

Cut Scope 3 emissions
Mizuno plans to reduce Scope 3 emissions by 58.1% by FY2030 compared with FY2018, measured per 1 billion yen of added value. Scope 3 covers emissions across the wider value chain, such as purchased goods, logistics, and product use or disposal. The company says this is important because most of its emissions sit outside its own sites.

Reach net zero
Mizuno says it aims to reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. Net zero means cutting emissions as far as possible and balancing any remaining emissions with removals or other measures. The company presents this as its long-term climate goal.

Make apparel lower impact
Mizuno has a target for environmentally friendly apparel to reach 100% of all new product categories by 2028. The company says its FY2024 result was 36%, with a FY2025 target of 40%. It uses this target to push product teams toward lower-impact design and materials.

Mizuno has a target for environmentally friendly footwear to reach 100% of all new product categories by 2027. The company says its FY2024 result was 97.2%, with a FY2025 target of 100%. This shows the footwear team is close to its stated goal.
