Founded on heirloom pieces

Founded in 2015 in New York City by longtime friends Alessandra Perez-Rubio and Louisa Rechter, the brand was inspired by their shared Filipino heritage and the treasured vintage garments passed down by their grandmothers. Their heirloom pieces were beautiful, distinctive and made to last.

Dudley Stephens collaboration

In 2022, we sat down and brainstormed with the female-founded and operated brand, Dudley Stephens. It was during these sessions that the idea sparked to combine Mestiza's iconic blue & white chinoiserie print with Dudley Stephens' cult-favorite sustainable fleeces. We launched in January 2023 and the launch exceeded our expectations with it selling out within 24 hours!
