ME+EM presents its sustainability approach through four pillars: flattering, functional, forever and fair. The brand says its sustainability purpose informs how it sources materials, transports collections, and manages environmental, social and governance issues. It has a dedicated in-house sustainability team and works with industry expert organisations to shape its ESG framework. The company highlights responsible design, traceability, fair treatment of people across its supply chain, and circularity measures such as recycling or donating fabrics and trims. In 2025, ME+EM was certified by Positive Luxury.

Certified materials use

In 2024, ME+EM were certified to the Textile Exchange Responsible Animal Standard, in addition to increasing their use of organic and recycled materials. Certification to the Good Cashmere Standard followed in 2025, alongside increased use of Lenzing fibres. ME+EM are active members of the Leather Working Group and uphold strict animal welfare policies.

Supply chain labour standards

Since becoming a member in 2022, we've adopted their internationally recognised base code of labour standards as the foundation of our own code of conduct, particularly focusing on protecting workers’ rights. Our internal teams undergo responsible purchasing practice training by the ETI, ensuring our sourcing methods remain ethical, fair, and transparent. Our SEDEX membership further reinforces our commitment to responsible supply chain management, enabling us to engage in global auditing programs that provide both insight and accountability.

Living Wage Employer

We’re also proud to be an accredited Living Wage Employer for our ME+EM employees, ensuring fair pay across the board.

Circularity and packaging

In our commitment to preventing materials or garments entering landfill, we recycle or donate our fabrics and trims from our head office to charities and partner with certified recycling agencies such as Recorra. We donate all unsold sample sale pieces to New Life, a charity supporting disabled and terminally ill children and their families. Our packaging is made from recycled, recyclable or reusable materials, including our ME+EM tote bag, crafted entirely from recycled plastic bottles. Our lookbooks are printed on PEFC certified paper from responsibly managed forests and controlled sources and 100% recyclable.
