Marlow & Mae is an Australian clothing brand for babies, children and women that describes its approach as slow and considered, with an emphasis on quality natural fabrics, timeless shapes and thoughtful details. The brand says it began with hand-sewn pieces made from soft, natural fibres and muted colour palettes, and that it continues to design in-house while working with a small group of manufacturing partners. It states that these partners are based in Nepal, China and India and uphold ethical and environmental standards. The main manufacturer carries SMETA certification for safe, fair and ethical working conditions.

Marlow and Mae Sustainability Actions

Used natural fabrics

Marlow & Mae was born in August 2015 from a desire to create something beautiful, functional and effortless for my little boy, Marlow. It all started with a simple wish to get back to basics — to design pieces made from quality natural fabrics, with timeless shapes and thoughtful details that could be loved, lived in and passed down.

Worked with manufacturers

With the support of my family and our wonderful community, I began working with a small group of reputable, sustainable manufacturers. These trusted partners — based in Nepal, China and India — have been part of the Marlow & Mae family for many years and uphold the same ethical and environmental standards we believe in.

SMETA-certified production

Our main manufacturer carries the SMETA certificate that insures that our products are made in facilities with safe, fair and ethical working conditions.

Designs made in-house

While every new design is still created in-house and we continue to sew our original samples and special pieces here in our studio, most of our production is now handled by our manufacturing partners.

Uses linen care guidance

Our high-quality linen garments are designed to withstand the test of time, ensuring they always look and feel their best. Our linen is extra special because it's intensively pre washed plus pre shrunk and will shed very lightly compared to other linens.

Sustainable Development Goals

Marlow and Mae is committed to advancing these Global Goals to promote prosperity for people & planet.
