B Corp certified

On January 5 2022, Manukora officially became B Corp certified. The company says the B Corp values are now a key part of its culture and mission, and that becoming and remaining B Corp certified requires input from the entire team.

Ethical beekeeping standard

Manukora has co-developed an elevated beekeeping/harvest standard with its master beekeeping partners, which it calls “The Art of Ethical Beekeeping.” The company says this method involves additional time and cost, but significantly increases bee health, yields, product quality and reduces negative environmental impacts.

Glyphosate residue-free honey

Manukora says 100% Glyphosate Residue Free certification applies to all Manukora honey sold in the United States. It also states that all its honey is free from glyphosate, antibiotics, and GMOs, and that each batch is rigorously tested.

Pollinator Partnership

Going beyond New Zealand, Manukora says it has partnered with the world's largest non-profit focused on pollinator health: Pollinator Partnership.

Native reforestation

Manukora says it protects and restores the land so bees can thrive. What it is doing includes native reforestation along waterways, partnering with remote beekeepers who cherish the land, and actively managing its operational footprint.

Packaging changes

Manukora says its packaging receives the same care as its product. It is transitioning to glass jars and is also using soy-based inks and water-based adhesives in its cardboard, FSC-certified paper and cardboard, and certified compostable pallet wrap and courier bags.

Water and waste actions

Manukora says it is turning organics into rich compost, recycling soft plastics, hard plastics, cardboard and electronic waste, returning steel drums back to the beekeepers, prioritising second-hand or other environmentally-friendly products and equipment, setting water reduction targets, recirculating water used for cooling and heating, and filtering cleaning water before it re-enters the local system.
