We partner with cooperatives, small and independent artisans to help grow their businesses. Madre Luna ensures that we work with partner artisans that are like-minded and that share our passion, mission and who want to create a positive impact on fashion culture.

Provides fair wages

Madre Luna partners with local artisans and cooperative groups in Guatemala to source, create and produce one of a kind handmade collections. All Madre Luna artisan partners receive a fair wage. We allow partner artisans, to set their prices based on their labor and costs.

Supports women artisans

Many of the women artisans we work are located in rural areas and indigenous communities. They are able to work from their own homes, while taking care of their families. The cooperative groups and associations we work with often provide training programs, resources, and safe working conditions for partner artisans.

Uses traditional techniques

The materials we use are full-grain leather and organic cotton. We work with partner artisans experienced in crafted leather and cotton that are sustainable produced and locally sourced. We incorporate textiles that are handwoven by Mayan women, one thread at a time. Artisan women use the same traditional weaving techniques their ancestors have employed for centuries.

Each product is lovingly produced in small batches to ensure quality, consistency, and attention to detail. 100% natural ingredients: We choose pure, natural ingredients without synthetic fillers. Paraben- and toxic-free: We avoid parabens and harmful additives. Cruelty-free: We do not test on animals, and we choose suppliers who share the same ethic.
