Longchamp Sustainability Actions

B Corp certification

Longchamp has been awarded B Corp certification, marking a new chapter in the French family-owned brand’s push to formalize and measure its environmental and social commitments across its global operations. The certification, granted under B Lab’s 2025 standards, recognizes companies that meet verified criteria across governance, supply chain, environmental impact and employee policies.

Recycled nylon Le Pliage

The tote remains as popular as ever but is now made of recycled nylon—part of the company’s efforts to be more environmentally conscious in recent years.

Re-Play range

Other sustainability programmes include the launch of the Re-Play range, which utilises deadstock materials that would have otherwise gone to waste.

Repair workshops

The brand also has a repair workshop that restores almost 60,000 items each year—lovingly extending the life of its products, some of which have been passed down from one generation to the next.

Leather Working Group audits

All the tanneries used by the brand are audited by the Leather Working Group, an independent body that certifies social and environmental standards. As of 2023, 79 per cent of the leathers used by the brand are certified “Gold”.

Traceability via QR codes

For each product, we know where the materials come from, we know the suppliers, and we’ve been able to share that with our clients, for a while now, through QR codes on the labels of our products. We want our customers to be able to know where everything has been made; where the leather has been tanned or finished.

Supplier EcoVadis ratings

More than 80 percent of Longchamp’s suppliers are rated via EcoVadis, and procurement teams work with lower-performing partners to drive improvements, rather than simply penalizing them.

Solar panels at workshops

Longchamp has partnered with Neoline for transatlantic shipping and equipped several workshops with solar panels as part of its decarbonization strategy.

Emissions reductions in 2024

In 2024, it reported a 95 percent reduction in emissions related to energy consumption compared with 2023, as well as a 60 percent reduction in air freight emissions.
