Lend Lease Sustainability Actions

Uses a sustainability framework

Lendlease says its sustainability work is guided by a framework built around six value drivers: climate, resources and materials, nature, skilling and employment, procurement, and placemaking. It says this framework helps the business focus on the places it creates and the people who use them. The company also says it weaves Caring for Country through the framework, which means it includes First Nations ideas about caring for land and place. Lendlease says its projects and investments are also shaped by climate-related risk assessments.

Published ESG reporting suite

Lendlease says it publishes an annual report, a sustainability report, and an ESG databook. ESG means environmental, social, and governance, which is a way of tracking a company’s impact on the planet, people, and leadership. The company says the databook brings together data on emissions, energy, water, waste, health and safety, diversity, employee engagement, and board oversight. It also says its sustainability report follows Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards, known as AASB S2.

Used sustainable finance tools

Lendlease says it has used green bonds and sustainability-linked loans to fund parts of its business. Green bonds are loans raised for projects with environmental benefits, while sustainability-linked loans tie borrowing costs to sustainability targets. The company says these finance tools are aligned with the ICMA Green Bond Principles and the LMA Sustainability Linked Loan Principles. It also says about half of its total facilities, worth A$3.1 billion, were in sustainability finance format as of 30 June 2025.

Reached social value target

Lendlease says it set a global target in 2020 to create A$250 million of social value by 2025, and it says it reached A$284.6 million by the end of FY25. Social value means the positive change people experience, measured in money terms. The company says the result was independently verified by social impact consultants and that the work supported more than 250,000 people, delivered over 500 social outcomes across eight countries, and involved more than 13,000 volunteer opportunities.

Earned major building ratings

Lendlease says several of its projects have received high sustainability ratings. These include a 6 Star Green Star Design rating for Powerhouse Parramatta, a 6 Star Green Star Design & As Built rating for Melbourne Quarter Tower, and a WELL Community Gold rating for Stratford Cross. Green Star is an Australian rating system for buildings, and WELL looks at health and wellbeing in buildings. The company also says Barangaroo International Towers ranked first in the 2026 NABERS Sustainable Portfolios Index Office Water Index.

Reported on modern slavery

Lendlease says it publishes an annual Modern Slavery Statement. Modern slavery is a term for serious exploitation such as forced labour, debt bondage, and human trafficking. The company says this statement is part of its wider governance and responsible business reporting. It also says it works with its supply chain and other organisations to improve sustainability outcomes, which suggests it treats labour and sourcing as part of its ESG work.
