What do our labels mean?

KCS Print states that sustainability is at the core of what it does. In 2023 it became the first B Corporation label printer in the UK, building on long-standing FSC, PEFC and ISO14001 credentials. The company says it reviews environmental targets annually and has sought new ways to improve its environmental performance. Its roll label division, Root Sustainable Labels, focuses on materials and processes that meet high sustainability requirements, including FSC-certified or carbon neutral papers, recycled films, and biodegradable or compostable materials where suitable.

KCS Print LTD Sustainability Actions

First UK B Corp label printer

In 2023 we became the first B Corporation® label printer in the UK. This rigorous certification is on top of the long standing FSC®, PEFC and ISO14001 environmental credentials that we have held for more than a decade.

Environmental certificates held

KCS Print have been holders of environmental certificates like FSC® and PEFC which require ongoing auditing and ISO14001 which leads us to review annually our environmental targets.

MIS installed in 2022

The Digital Transformation Grant has enabled us to introduce a new management information system (MIS) which was installed 1st April 2022. This allows us to increase productivity and efficiency whilst manufacturing labels for the high-end food, drink and consumer markets. It is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund.

Sustainable labels division

Our roll label division, Root Sustainable Labels, works closely with the end user to ensure the labels are made to measure for the product. No matter what the brief we recommend materials and processes that will ensure the labels perform in the environment they live in as well as delivering to high sustainability requirements.

FSC and recycled materials

Our papers are FSC® certified or carbon neutral, we print recycled films and where suitable we always recommend biodegradable and compostable materials.
