Cut direct emissions to zero
The Royal Parks says it aims to eliminate all greenhouse gas emissions from its direct operations by 2030. It also says it will keep working on emissions from its supply chains, which means the pollution linked to the goods and services it buys, and on more responsible events too.

Reduce food waste by 25%
Mercure London Hyde Park says its 2025 action plan includes reducing food waste by 25 percent over the next three years. It also plans to add recycling stations on every floor, design a linen reuse plan, and review products using full life-cycle costs, which means looking at the cost and impact from purchase to disposal.
2026
Open a climate-resilient garden
The Royal Parks says a new free public garden in The Regent’s Park will open in 2026. It is being designed as a climate-change-resilient space with biodiverse planting, recycled materials, and a large biodiversity net gain, meaning the project is expected to leave nature in a better state than before.
